Tony Yu graduated from North Shore Driving School’s driver instructor training course and got his driver instructor license in 2000. He founded All Star Driving School in 2003. The school got its name from the NHL All-Star game that was going on. And Tony wished all his students become road stars. By the way, Markus Naslund, Todd Bertuzzi, Ed Jovanovski are the stars from Vancouver Canucks that year.

Tony has since helped hundreds of new immigants and high school and SFU, UBC students learn proper driving skills and pass road test. We all know that driving is a life long learning process, so is teaching driving. Tony has never stopped learning new things, picking up new teaching skills. And he is looking forward to using his knowledge and vast experience gained from 12 years of teaching in Vancouver to help more people to learn safe driving skills and to get their new license.

Tony was trained as a road engineer, and worked on road design for 4 years in China, studied traffic engneering in University of New South Wales, Sydney Australia. He is an avid sports fan, an amateur soccer player, and used to coach a soccer team. He used his extensive traffic knowledge to help students understand the rules, not just simply memorize them; His coaching skill has helped many students to master the driving skills at a pace that is most appropriat for each individule and helped them pass road test in the shortest time.

The road test passing rate from All Star Driving School is normally higher than the ICBC average. And that is also achieved by student using less time than average. The reason behind it is that Tony is very familiar with almost all the roads in Vancouer, Burnaby and most roads in Richmond and North Van from the years of teaching on the road. Therefore he can always choose the best training route available and quickly alternate the route when unexpected thing – like a traffic jam happens. He is, off course very familiar with all the road test area, and can better prepare his students for the road tests.
